Useful Information

I offer private one-to-one tutoring specifically designed to meet your child’s individual learning needs.

A typical tutoring session is one hour in length, and can be either one or two days per week. The tutoring sessions can be held in the privacy of my home, or I have arrangements with certain international schools to tutor students after hours on their premises. Your child’s safety and well being are my primary concern; therefore, I am flexible and conscientious with my tutoring.

In a tutoring session I use a multisensory teaching approach.  This means helping a child to learn through more than one of the senses. Most teaching in schools is done using either sight or hearing (visual or auditory sensations). The child’s sight is used in reading information and looking at diagrams or pictures.  The sense of hearing is used in listening to what the teacher says. As a dyslexic child may experience difficulties with either or both of these senses, the best teaching method is to involve the use of more of the child’s senses, especially the use of touch and movement (kinaesthetic) wherever possible.
